Project
Helen and Paul, Yeronga
Large Post War House, extensive renovation and landscaping
This was the problem Helen and Paul had. They love Yeronga and the street they live in, but needed to create a home that had better spaces for their growing family.
Budget: $500K
Duration: 12 months
Year: 2015/16
- We needed to fit numerous structural elements to create the new spaces designed by the architect.
- We had limited access to the rear of the property where most of the work was taking place.
- The design required highly detailed joinery for the doors and large windows.
- The design changes to the existing building presented many challenges. “It had to look good.”
- The pool area was not connected to the house and living areas.
Weekly meetings with our client and the architect gave us the flexibility and impetus to produce an evolving design, while ensuring the budget remained realistic and on track.
The original landscaper’s designs came in over budget, so we developed an alternative and we created a cost effective solution that didn’t comprise the design.
To over come the lack of connection between the pool area and the house, we created an entertaining terrace under the deck .
A home was created that allows the teenage and adult children room of their own while also having a large family house. Multiply entertaining areas have been created from the formal to the laid back billiard room.
The investment Helen and Paul have made has not only created the lifestyle home they desired but an improvement in the market value of their home.
